Celebrating Carnival Success - Totals are Final!

The Hike Bike Run and Carnival earned more than $10,000 for Sands!

Many thanks to our sponsors who covered all the event costs and provided many valuable donations. We have so many that some will be used for the Sands Auction Feb 20th.

We need to recognize some unsung heroes that made this event: - Live Music: 40 Watt, The Zionites & Deepwater Junction - Thanks to Chris Buerger of Deepwater Junction for organizing bands and to Joe Wolf for providing the critically needed equipment.

  • The grill team: Rob Alpern, Clay Bond, Matt Fellerhoff, David Kitchings & The Redmoor chef, Scott McDonald
  • All-day volunteers who were there from 8:00 am set-up-4:00 pm take down.
  • Office support: Tina Haggerty and Nancy Patterson
  • Dave Belmont and his big truck! We couldn't get the booths back and forth without Dave.
  • Healthy food options from Kate Bocheneck
  • New games from Kathy Shockey, she went over and above for our games.
  • Rudder support from Melissa Murphy, Alma Bartos, Nancy Peña and Nickole Pope-George.

Finally our sincerest thanks to all who participated in the race, purchased pre-sale tickets, and attended this great family event. Plans are being made for reservations to secure this event for next year. If you are interested in helping plan for next year, contact Melissa Murphy mlmurphy@fuse.net. It's great to see Sands pull together to raise funds and have fun! Keep your eyes out for information about our upcoming SMPO events: the winter Fund Drive and Silent Auction.
